Release Date: September 6, 2011
The Hidden is the last book in Verday's The Hollow series. (You can check out my reviews of The Hollow and The Haunted here.)
The first two books set up multiple mysteries that were in dire need of resolving. With The Hidden, Verday doesn't disappoint.
The Scoop: (Goodreads)
Abbey knows that Caspian is her destiny. Theirs is a bond that transcends even death.
But as Abbey finally learns the full truth about the dark fate that links her to Caspian and ties them both to the town of Sleepy Hollow, she suddenly has some very hard choices to make.
Caspian may be the love of her life, but is that love worth dying for?
If you have read my previous reviews of this series, you know I have had a problem with Abbey's for-the-rest-of-eternity lover, Caspian. He does continue to grow on me throughout this book, but the real treat for me was Verday's addition/expansion of the supporting characters in The Hidden.
The interactions between Ben and Abbey are some of the best of the series and The Hidden exposes the mysterious Revenants and what their purpose is in Abbey's destiny. Abbey also becomes better friends with Beth and meets a mysterious new friend, Cyn. (Which is great because Abbey with friends is definitely more fun than sad friendless Abbey.)
|Come on Abbey, you need to get you some of these!!|
By the end, all questions are answered and everything is tidily tied up. The Hidden is a good read that was worth the wait.
Final Verdict: Chocolate Fudge
You know what's coming and it may be bad for you, but it's still tasty and leaves you wanting more.
