Shelf Candy Saturday (3)

Happy Saturday!

A big thanks again to Five Alarm Book Reviews for this great idea to showcase awesome covers and recognize amazing artists!

The book cover I would like to showcase this week is one I have been obsessed with ever since the first time I came across it.

I just think this cover is amazing! I immediately grabbed Hourglass for my TBR pile, no questions asked, based on the merits of the cover alone.

A little blurb for you: (Goodreads)

For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn’t there: swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents’ death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She’s tried everything, but the visions keep coming back.

Full of atmosphere, mystery, and romance, Hourglass merges the very best of the paranormal and science-fiction genres in a seductive, remarkable young adult debut.

The talented artist:

I cannot find out the info on who designed this gorgeous cover. If any of you have the inside scoop, please let me know in the comments below and I'll be happy to amend this post to give credit where it is due!!

  1. I have seen this cover before and always thought that it was cool, but never really took the time to study it. Now I wee that it is not a gust of wind that blows her hair and skirt, but she is on the wall, facing the floor. Awesome pick, Steph.

  2. Great cover! I was staring at it for a while trying to figure it out. I didn't realize she was on the wall either. Now it's even more amazing.
Thankfully from the blurb it sounds like an interesting book, so I shall pick it up too :)

  3. @ FAB - I knew something was weird about this cover and you nailed it on the head!

@ Kris - OK so I rented Jane Eyre yesterday, but had to leave 10 min in. The Alice In Wonderland girl is pretty good!

Am watching now and I forgot what a jerk Rochester is in the start, but I guess I would be a jerk too if I had a secret **SPOILER** that I was **SPOILER**ing in the **SPOILER** :)
