Shelf Candy Saturday (10)

Shelf Candy Saturday is a meme that celebrates the many times unrecognized, but invaluable hard work of book cover designers. They say never judge a book by its cover, but you know you do!!

So now, run on over to Five Alarm Book Reviews (the creators of this fun meme) and check out more awesome covers!

So...this week I wanted to feature the beautiful covers of Julie Kagawa's wonderful Iron Fey Series and supplementary novellas. I scoured the internet and the books themselves for info on the cover artist, to no avail. If any of you have any info regarding who is responsible for these lovely designs, let me know and I'll be happy to add it here!

Now on to the eye candy!

Aren't they great?!! I usually am not a fan of models on covers (I like to picture the characters myself), but I am drawn in by the colors and beautiful design. My favorite covers of this series are the novellas (probably because there aren't faces on them), but the entire series of covers is gorgeous.

That's it for this week. Be sure to head to Five Alarm Book Reviews (FAB for the cool kids :) ) and see what everyone else is featuring this week!

  1. I am not usually a fan of models on covers either, but I am so glad that someone has finally featured this set. They are great covers.
I am reading a book right now that talks about the almost white blonde hair of the character, but on the cover her hair is a dark brown. Grrr.

  2. These covers are absolutely beautiful, I completely agree. I have The Iron King (haven't read it yet!) and when I saw that you couldn't find the cover info I plucked it off the shelf to see. But it doesn't say!! Not on the back cover, not on the copyright info, not even in the author's acknowledgements (they sometimes include a thank you to the cover artist)! I think that's terrible.

  3. Reviewed all these books and think not only do they have the great writing going for them which just had to rate all five stars but the good-looking covers too.

  4. I really like these covers too! I like how they all have the frosty-ish background in common. I know what you mean about the models on the covers... that's not what I pictured Ash to look like hahaa. <3

  5. I love these covers too! On my copies of Iron Daughter and Iron Queen the swirly bits are raised and glittery.

Thanks for stopping by Project to be Read :)

  6. I Love your covers and this blog is so awesome, from one book lover to another.

  7. Great pics! I cannot wait to read this series!
