This just in:

According to Entertainment Weekly a movie deal has been struck for my favorite book of 2011: The Daughter of Smoke and Bone!! If you haven't read my review yet, you can find it here.

Universal has acquired the rights to Laini Taylor's amazing novel and here's hoping they get this party started ASAP! Let the "dream" casting begin.

According to Taylor's website, the second book in the trilogy will be ready for release by Fall of 2012 and I can't wait!! Title TBA, but I promise to fill you in as soon as I find out.

Until next time,

  1. Both the two main characters-- Karou and Akiva-- have a devastatingly beautiful romance that is haunted by an endless war between their sides as well a question of being able to forgive and forget. The worlds-- whether that is Eretz or Prague-- are both described in such intricate detail that they even seem like living, breathing characters next to their narrators. Overall, this is a fantastic start to the series and I cannot wait for the second one-- which better come out next year like it's supposed to or I will probably cry. Come on, Laini Taylor, write fast-- your fans are waiting!!
