In My Mailbox (10)

This meme is hosted by The Story Siren and you should head over there straightaway to check out what's hot in books right now.

So, after last month's haul, I have no business allowing a single other book to enter my house, my mp3 player or my Nook. Well...that wouldn't be very much fun, now would it? So, if only to keep you guys entertained every week (and not for my benefit at all....) I had to acquire a few more must-reads this week! All I can say is thank goodness for the library!

So, now for the good stuff!!

Library:

I have been wanting to read Ready Player One and Robopocalypse forever! I finished Uglies in about three hours and loved it (review coming.) The blogs have been buzzing for months about Lola and the Boy Next Door and Anna Dressed in Blood and although I'm behind I'm catching up with a quickness!

Speaking of behind, I have yet to read the Gone series (my apartment under this rock is pretty spacious, so I'm content to stay here...), so I'm anxious to get started. The cover for Ruby Red is just so gorgeous, I had to pick it up. I hope the book matches the cover!

E-Library:

Ooooooohhh...The Forest of Hands and Teeth! So excited that this was in stock at my local E-Library that I downloaded it as fast as I could before anyone else grabbed it! I finished it in one night and loved it (review also coming... I promise!) Therefore, I had to pick up the sequel too (duh)! I downloaded The Goddess Test so I could read it before I start Goddess Interrupted which I received via ARC last week.

Audible:

I travel constantly for work and nothing beats the driving for four hours blues like a good book from Audible. Once I figured out that I could load the app on my phone and bought a jack for my car, I was set! So this week's offerings are Clockwork Angel and Rules of Civility. I've been bummed ever since (early on in my blogging) I let my ARC of Rules of Civility expire without getting to read it, so now I'm trying to make up for lost time.

I love Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series, but had yet to start The Infernal Devices. I started Clockwork Angel this week, am halfway through and am loving it! Jennifer Ehle (my favorite Elizabeth Bennet EVER) narrates C.A. and is fabulous! She is great at using different accents for each character to great effect.

ARC's (Netgalley):

In this contemporary love story, a teenage boy named Karl enlists a famous writer to help him impress his girlfriend, Fiorella. She has asked him to write her a letter in which he reveals his true self. But Karl isn’t convinced he’s good enough with words, so he tracks down Fiorella’s favorite author and begs him to take up the task. The writer reluctantly assents, on the condition that Karl agree to a series of interviews, so that the letter will be based on an authentic portrait of Karl. The letter, though effective, has unexpected consequences for Karl, Fiorella, and the writer.

The blurb for Dying to Know You sounded interesting and the cover is beautiful, so that counts as a win/win for me in the book choosing department!

That's it for this week, peeps! I can't wait to peek at what was in your mailboxes this week! Be sure to stop by The Story Siren to see more buzzed about books and share a few of your own!

The Uglies series is the best!
Have heard good things from other bloggers about Ruby Red.
And the Gone series by Michael Grant seems really popular.
Love Clockwork Angel(saving up from Clockwork Prince).

And somehow just really want to read The Dead Tossed Waves which is on my e-reader.

    1. I thought it was cute too, but I liked Anna and the French Kiss better. I was just so in the weeds in December, but I'm back, baby!

    1. I just found out about the e-library myself and am loving it! The available selection can be limited because of publisher restictions, but it good for about a book a week. You should check it out! Just finished Anna Dressed in Blood and I liked it. Anna and the French Kiss is great. I think you'll enjoy it! Thanks for stopping by!

  10. Your library stash is awesome. I absolutely adore Lola, and while I haven't read that particular John Green, I can only imagine how kick-ass it is... It's going to be hard to get you away from those books! :)

I realize I have to utilize the eBooks at my library. I always forget about it.

Hope you have a great week! Have fun with the reading.
