In My Mailbox (13)

This meme is hosted by The Story Siren and you should head over there straightaway to check out what's hot in books right now.

You guys will be so proud of me this week! After three weeks of great deals, good forutne and general book hoarding, I've kept it light this week. Yay! I can catch my breath and catch up for a minute...

So, here's the goods:

E-Library:

Yay! I'm so excited! I've had 1Q84 on hold for-ev-er and it finally came in yesterday. The timing is perfect because I honestly wouldn't have had time to read it any earlier.

Purchased Nook Books:

A great deal came through my e-mail this week again. Another couple of great titles on sale from Harper Collins/Harper Teen this week! Paying only 99 cents each, I scored Cold Kiss and Cloaked both of which have been on my wishlist for quite awhile! If you guys aren't already signed up for their e-mails, I highly suggest that you do so ASAP.

Another 99 cent score, from Harper Perennial this time. The works of Arnistead Maupin are now available for e-readers. To promote this, Harper Perennial has put the first of his famous Tales of City series on sale for 99 cents. I can't wait to dig in!

The Scoop: (Goodreads)

For more than three decades Armistead Maupin's "Tales of the City" has blazed its own trail through popular culture--from a groundbreaking newspaper serial to a classic novel, to a television event that entranced millions around the world. The first of six novels about the denizens of the mythic apartment house at 28 Barbary Lane, Tales is both a sparkling comedy of manners and an indelible portrait of an era that changed forever the way we live.

And finally...

 Free Fridays Selection for Nook:

If you are a Nook owner, you might already now that B&N offers a free book every Friday. If you need more info here's a link: Free Fridays for Nook.

This week: Hearts at Stake (Drake Chronicles #1).

The Scoop: (Goodreads)

On Solange’s sixteenth birthday, she is going to wake up dead. As if that’s not bad enough, she also has to outwit her seven overprotective older brothers, avoid the politics involved with being the only daughter born to an ancient vampire dynasty, and elude Kieran Black—agent of an anti-vampire league who is searching for his father’s killer and is intent on staking Solange and her entire family.

That's it for this week, peeps! I can't wait to peek at what was in your mailboxes this week! Be sure to stop by The Story Siren to see more buzzed about books and share a few of your own!
