In My Mailbox (15)

This meme is hosted by The Story Siren and you should head over there straightaway to check out what's hot in books right now.

I was pretty good this week, my lovelies. Well, relatively so... I have been reading like a maniac just to keep up!

Library (I've really gotta write that donation check. I owe them big time!):

My wonderful Aunt Cindy (also a voracious reader) recommended Cutting for Stone, so I already know this isn't going to be a done-in-four-hours book, but I'm really looking forward to it!

I love me some Mr. and Mrs. Darcy and I'm eager to read the mysterious take in Death Comes to Pemberley. I also have a weakness for historical fiction, particularly involving royalty. So, The Winter Palace will be my first trip back down that road in a long time.

I've heard amazing things about The Tiger's Wife and after waiting forever it's mine! (For 14 days at least...) And a new Maggie Stiefvater book? Awesome-sauce!

E-Library:

I don't know much about this book, but it sounded great. (Goodreads):

Mickey Bolitar's year can't get much worse. After witnessing his father's death and sending his mom to rehab, he's forced to live with his estranged uncle Myron and switch high schools.

A new school comes with new friends and new enemies, and lucky for Mickey, it also comes with a great new girlfriend, Ashley. For a while, it seems like Mickey's train-wreck of a life is finally improving - until Ashley vanishes without a trace. Unwilling to let another person walk out of his life, Mickey follows Ashley's trail into a seedy underworld that reveals that this seemingly sweet, shy girl isn't who she claimed to be. And neither was Mickey's father. Soon, Mickey learns about a conspiracy so shocking that it makes high school drama seem like a luxury - and leaves him questioning everything about the life he thought he knew.

So mysterious...

ARC's (via Netgalley, I love you so!):

I'm playing a little catch up with my Netgalley reviews, but I couldn't resist these three. I have heard amazing things about all of them and these covers...I see a Shelf Candy in your future little lovelies!

This week: A World I Never Made

The Scoop: (Goodreads)

A World I Never Made is the story of Megan Nolan, a beautiful and brilliant but cynical young writer who fakes her suicide in order to escape from an equally handsome and brilliant Saudi lover who she discovers is a terrorist mastermind.

When her father, Pat, a recently retired Connecticut contractor, estranged from his daughter for many years, discovers the ploy, he commences, with the help of a lovely but oddly sad French detective named Catherine Lawrence, on a search that leads him inexorably into the dark world of terrorism, espionage and counter-espionage where he ultimately comes face to face with evil, with his lost daughter and with himself.

Sounds great, right?

That's it for this week, peeps! I can't wait to peek at what was in your mailboxes this week! Be sure to stop by The Story Siren to see more buzzed about books and share a few of your own!
