Movie Monday: "The Vow"

I love books (clearly) and I love movies, so I thought it would be fun to feature more book-to-movie info on Steph's Stacks. I would love to hear about some of your most anticipated book-to-movie releases!

The Vow

The Vow has all of the earmarks of a bona fide tearjerker ala any Nicholas Sparks adaptation. (Why do I feel compelled to watch The Notebook EVERY time it comes on...) Channing Tatum is crazy-hot and I love Rachel McAdams, so I have high hopes for this one. Interestingly enough, The Vow is based on a true story of love and amnesia.

Book Info: (Goodreads)

On November 24, 1993, two months after their marriage, Kim and Krickitt Carpenter leave for a Thanksgiving trip to her parents. Loaded up in their 1993 Ford Escort and with Krickitt driving, they travel westward on I-40.

As the evening carries on, suddenly Krickitt comes up behind a truck having engine trouble and traveling at a slow rate of speed. Attempting to swerve, to miss the truck, the two collide, and another truck following too close behind the Carpenter's broadsides Krickitt and Kim. The aftermath of the wreck changes their lives forever.

The Vow is a testament to the power and perservance of love. The tender story that has touched millions of people now is told by the two who lived it. Their life together has not been defined by a car wreck but by a vow they made.

  1. This movie looks so good! I love Rachel McAdams too! I didn't know it was based off of a book- Another one for the TBR list & soon before I see the movie! :D
K, just looked (living in Germany right now) & it doesn't seem like it's playing around here too soon. Yay, I love reading the books before watching the movies!
