This Just In: J.K. Rowling New Adult Book

Well, the wait is almost over. Okay, that's a bit of a stretch, but the world is one step closer to a new creation from the legendary J.K. Rowling (of Harry Potter fame, you may have heard of him...)

Rowling has just signed with a new publisher and Little, Brown is the lucky winner. Her success with Bloomsbury has been the stuff that legends are made of, but according to Rowling, the switch makes sense in her transition from children's books to adult novels.

I, for one, can't wait to see what her amazingly creative mind comes up with for an adult audience. Although the last little series she wrote wasn't to shabby either!

  1. Wow, this is news indeed! Thanks for being the first to let me know, Steph! Harry Potter is my favorite and although I was just a little disappointed that her new book will be "nothing like" her previous series, I still join the group that eagerly awaits its release. Why do you think everyone's refusing to even say as much as what genre its in?

    1. I think they are going to play up the suspense for as long as they can. I can't wait to find out more details!

  2. I was so excited when my mum told me the news. I wish they gave us more details on it, even a small hint to what kind of book or series it could be.
Im not sure it will be a big hit like Harry Potter, but if its great, Im sure she could still do well with the older readers.

    1. I am eager to know more too! I think it's interesting that Rowlings core audience (from the beginning) has grown up with her books. Many are adults now and maybe that will translate well to them. I think if they play it right, this release will be pretty huge.

  3. That makes sense, about her original fans being adults now, although later generations are still digging HP. I just hope she stays in the fantasy genre instead of going realistic or historical or something. I could see her doing well in thriller, but a fantasy thriller would be best :). She just invents the greatest word ever.
