Starz Channel has been branching out into original programming for quite some time now, but none of their series (even Spartacus) have made me as excited as I am about this one!

Deadline reports that Ron Moore (the producer behind Battlestar Gallactica) has been tapped to write the screenplay for my favorite and beloved series, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon for the small screen. Now, who should play Jamie... That might be an entire article all to itself!

Starz has also picked up Philippa Gregory's Cousins of War series for development and plans for it to premiere next year.

National Book Awards Winners Announced
The National Book Award winners have finally been announced and Entertainment Weekly has the full nominee list for your perusal. Fiction nominees were: Junot Diaz, This is How You Lose Her; Dave Eggars, A Hologram for a King; Ben Fountain, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk; Kevin Powers, The Yellow Birds and the winner Louise Erdrich, The Round House.
